t1 Believing in the service-oriented mis-
sion of the organization Osburn profes-
Jspr of Bible said he is confident the
tAPOs officers will lead the club in the
fight direction.
"The advisors job is to make sure
things run smoothly .. and answer
iuiestlons that come up" he said.
3 The club began its search for new
sponsors during the summer. The previ
ous three sponsors withdrew because of
personal and time commitments.
Mclanle Fitzgerald president of Alpha
Phi Omega said the role of a sponsor is
to be "dedicated to our purposes and
encourage us to glorify God through
serving the people in ACU and in
Abilene."
"Sponsors provide vital moral and
spiritual support to the club" said
Fitzgerald sophomore biology major
from St. Louis Mo. "The club Is
accountable to the sponsors and they
make sure we stay in line with school
regulation.
...We want others
to be aware that

A flic cabinet containing hun-
dreds of articles related to
the HIV virus and AIDS will once
again be available to the student
body and Abilene residents.
The Big Country AIDS he-
source Group a non-profit orga-
nization donated the informa-
tion to the ACU library in March
according to Marsha Harper
library director.
Harper said most students were
not aware of the cabinet which is
located on the east wall in the
reference area of the. library
because of inadequate publicity;
but she hopes with additional
publicity it will be used by more
students.
The cabinet has individual sub-
ject folders that contain many
different articles including:
testing And transmission)
Psychological Aspects (living
with AIDS families and grief and
suicide)
MoralEthical Aspects (reli-
gion testing and quarantines).
Legal Aspects (court cases
insurance and the workplace).
Education (sex education and
AIDS patients In schools).
MinoritiesSpecial Groups
(minorities college students
heterosexuals and homosexuals)
Miscellaneous (surveys
costs Abilene area information
and various personalities Inflict-
ed with AIDS).
Publications (AIDS Alert and
National Lawyers Guild AIDS
Network).
Marllee McDonald junior
social work major from Hurst
said after being responsible for
collecting information from a
classes she sees a need for these
articles.
"This is good for students to
have access to because there arc
many people on campus who are
at high risk for the AIDS virus"
McDonald said.
According to Larry Holmes
Resource Group director the
cabinet was donated to the
library because it was the most
accessible for the biggest group
of people and showed the most
interest in seeing the value of the
cabinet.
"It is for people who want to
know more about AIDS or to
help someone they know who
has the disease" Holmes said.
The cabinet is an excellent tool
for students doing papers on
AIDS or related topics and will
periodically be updated Harper
said.
