Messrs. H. and F. Meyer have
returned from Galveston. Mr. H.
Meyer’s son Ben and family are
living there. Ben was in the dairy
business but lost all his property
and household goods except the de-
livery wagon. He left his home
at 2 o’clock p.m. on the 8th of Sep-
tember for bis aunt's home which
is situated on one of the highest
places in Galveston. Before he
could get there the water was flow-
ing freely over the wagon. When
Ben arrived at his aunt’s home all
had fled and he turned toward the
"Medical College" where he found
them. Mrs. B. Meyer received a
split cheek from a flying slate, oth-
erwise they received no injuries.
The horse drowned hitched to the
wagon.
