Treybig Family Holds Reunion
Thd annual Treybig Family
Reunion was held at Park Hall
near Fayetteville on Sunday,
August 31.
A barbecue dinner was served
to 140 adults and 24 children.

beck, who is 84 years old, the
youngest in attendance was Do-
nald Ray Treybig (2 week old
son of Mr. and Mrs. Cleward
Treybig), and Mr. and Mrs. C.
N. Treybig travelled the longest
distance to the reunion. The of-
ficers of the Treybig reunion
reunion are: Vastinc? Treybig,
President; Elton Treybig, Vice
President, both of Fayetteville;
and A. J. Treybig, Secretary-
Treasurer, of Austin.
IN KOREA
Army Pvt. Curtis H. Oltmann
Jr., whose parents live in War-
ren ton, Tex., recently arrived in
Korea and is now a member of
the Korean Military Advisory
Group in Seoul.
Oltmann -entered the Army in
February 1958 and completed
basic training at Fort Carson,
Colo.
The 23-year-old soldier was
graduated from Carmine High
School in 1854.

Mrs. Laura Forres
Accepts Position
Miss Edna Jasek, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. John Jasek of here
and a graduate nurse of the St.
Joseph’s Infirmery has accepted
a nursing position in the* Ganado
hospital and went on duty Mon-
day.
42 Social
The members of the Ladies 42
Club were entertained Thursday
afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Emil Chalupa for their regular
monthly social. Due to the ab-
sence of Mrs. W. C. Langlotz,
Mrs. John Cufr was the invited
guest. After the games were
played, delicious refreshments
were served.
The hostess was assisted in
serving by Mrs. L. W. Noak and
Mrs. Frank Kubala. Mrs. Laura
Forres will be the club’s hostess
ih October.
Submits To Operation
Emil Matura took suddenly ill
Sunday of the past week and
was rushed to the Fayette Me-
morial Hospital in La Grange
and submitted to an emergency
appendix operation Sunday
night He is reported to be do-
ing nicely.
Meeting
TheC. D. of A. held their first
fall meeting Monday night, Sept.
1 at the recreation half with 15
members present. Grand Regent
Lillian Sklar presided at the
meeting.
The Daily Mass Crusade was
discussed and it was decided that
each member attend at least one
weekly Mass every month for
vocations.
Also the paper drive was dis-
cussed and that everyone who
had newspaper, magazines, ca-
talogs and etc. to bring them to
Mrs. Mynar, telephone operator,
for storage as we would like to
have a full load soon.
The baby and bridal shower
were dropped as there was not!
enough interest shown in them.
Refreshments of cake and cof-
fee were served.

Mrs. Julia Kurtz of Houston
was the guest in the home of her
mother, Mrs. Ed Petrvalsky this
week
Mr. and Mrs- Leroy Priboda
and children of Beaumont spent
the week end with their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Hy. Prihoda and
Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Climak.
Mr and Mrs Frank Kubala of
Dallas were guests in the home
of Mr and Mrs. Emil Chalupa
this week.
Miss Ruth Ann Baca and Caro,

riage of their daughter, Edna
Leona Kasper to Mr. Ludwig
Carl Kraiuje, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Krause. The wedding
will take' lace on September 21,
at St Michael’s Lutheran Church.
The St. Michael’s parochial
school year opened on Tuesday,
September 2, with an enrollment
of 44 pupils. There are 21 chil-
dren in grades 1 to 4, and 23
children in gradfes 5 to 8.
Volunteers are once moiV ask-
ed to please come to the church
this Friday morning, to help
clean the church for Sunday’s
Mission Festival.
There will be* three services at
St. Michael’s Lutheran Church
this Sunday,Sept. 14, when the
Church is observing its annual
Mission Festival. The first ser-
vice, at 10:00 a. m. will be In En-
glish with Rev. Adolph F. Mi-
chalk of Smithville, preaching
the sermon. The second service,
in German, at 3:00 p. m., will be
conducted by Rev. George Fals-
ken. The night service, in En-
glish, will be conducted by Rev.
Benjamin Rathgeber at 8:00 p. m
Rev. Walter Stieicher will
preach at Grace Lutheran,
Smithville this Sunday morning,
enabling Rev. Michalk to come to
Winchester as their Mission Fes-
tival speaker.
Rev. and Mrs. Walter Stretch-
er, Helga, Harold and Renatd of
Houston were in Austin Sunday
afternoon for the opening servi-
ces of Concordia Lutheran Col-
lege. On Monday morning. Miss
Helga Stricher entered the col-
lege as a freshman, taking a tea-
cher training course.
Mr. and Mrs. Lee Ruetz of St.
Paul, Minnesota and Howard
Schuetze of McAllen, Trtcas,
were Labor Day week end guests
in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mar-
tin Schuetze.

ings is spending the month in

(AHTNC) — Army Recruit
Walter E. Moerbe Jr., whose
parents live in La Grange, Tex.,
recently complted eight weeks
of basic combat training under
the Reserve Forces Act program
at Fort Chaffee, Ark. He attend-
ed La Grange High School.
Alfred Hanisch
Interred Sept. 2
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, Sept. 2 from the Zion
Lutheran Church at 3:00 p. m.
for Alfred W. Hanisch who died
on August 31 at the Veterans
Hospital in Temple.
The Rev. Theo H. Graalmann
officiated at the services and in-
terment was in the La Grange
City Cemetery.
Mr. Hanisch was born on May
30, 1916 in La Grange, and was
42 years old at the time of his
death.
On February 22, 1941 he was
united in marriage with Miss
Viola Voss in La Grange.
He was by occupation a clea-
rer and preteser; was a La Grange
Volunteer Fireman, a veteran of
World War II; and was a mem-
ber of the Zion Lutheran
Church. He was a lifetime resi-
dent of La Grange.
Survivors include his widow,
Mrs Viola Hanisch, his step-fath-
er and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Struve of La Grange; otoe daugh-
ter. Miss Marilyn Hanisch of La
Grange; two sisters, Mrs. Mary
Miles of Eagle Lake and Mrs.
Gladys Dybala of San Antonio;
and threte brothers, John of La
Grange; Harry of Smithville,
and Leon of Sumpter, South Car-
olina.
daughter Mrs. F. W. Hentschel
and Mrs. Bernice Greenwood and
family. Over the Labor Day
week end they also had as visi-
tors, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Hent-
schel and family of Tdtoiple.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dunk Jr.
and family, formerly of Hunts-
ville are now living’in Port A-
ransas, where Mr. Dunk is em-
ployed as a teacher at the High
school there.

WITH ARMY IN GERMANY
PFC Edgar H. Mltachke, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Mltachke,
Route 4, La Grange, Tan., re-
cently participated with the 24th
Infantry Division in annual com-
bat efficiency Army training
tests in Germany.
Mltachke is a mechanic in
Company A of the division’s 84th
Armor in Munich. He entered
the Army in July 1957 and com-
pleted basic training at Fort Car-
son, Colo.
The 23-year-old soldier is a
1954 graduate of La Grange
High School.
