ACU has raised the admission standard and
is taking a closer look at students who apply.
Even with these higher standards enrollment
this fall was at Its highest point in history.
The largest financial campaign in university
history To Lead and To Serve has reached
$77.7 million with a goal of $100 million by the
end of 2000.
Money said he predicts the goal to be met
and exceeded by the end of this portion of the
campaign.
ACU has students from 48 states and 60
countries which adds to the diversity on cam-
pus. Diversity is less measurable at this point
but ACU has a great start Money said.
Overall Money said he is pleased with the
success at this point and will continue to bcian
optimist. '

The vision for ACU began taking shape In
1995 and allowed for student acuity staff and
trustee input. Included in this Input wereffocus
groups made up of students faculty and $taff.
The vision was announced about a yckr ago
and expanded upon in the State of the univer-
sity address given by Money in Octobdr. This
address "Raising the Standard for thft Next
Century" focused on recommitting tp improve-
ment of the university. fr
Money called for the commitment irV several
areas including making real a Christian: mission
with one another establish and adhering to higher
expectations higher standards of service! and edu
cating people regardless of color or nationality.
The address provided a taste of how serious
Money Is about the Centennial Vision.
For example In the area of diversity Money
stated "If you know a person of color who
meets the high standards we have established
for faculty members we will do all wc can to
hire that person even if wc do not have an open-
ing in that department. We must raise the stan-
dard of diversity."
The Centennial Vision provides for Improve-
ments In all areas including diversity campus
life academics and spirituality.
"The future of ACU has never looked
brighter than it docs now" Money said. "1 think
we have increased our academic standards
increased Involvement and support with our
constituents and reaffirmed our spiritual mis-
sion. These are all great things God has blessed
us with."
