CONTRACTORS’ NOTICE of TEXAS HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION
Sealed proposals for constructing 0.057 miles of feear & Rabbs
Creek Bridges from US Hwy. 77, 7.0 Miles N. of La Grange to Win-
chester on Highway No. FM 153, covered by S 354 (2), in Fayette
County, will be received at the Highway Department, Austin, until
9:00 A. M„ September 24, 1947, and then publicly opened and read.
This is a “Public Works” Project, as defined in House Bill No.
b4 of the 43rd Legislature of the State of Texas and House Bill No.
115 of the 44th Legislature of the State of Texas, and as such is
subject to the provisions of itiid House Bills. No provisions herein
are intended to be in conflict with the provisions of said Act.
In accordance with provisions of said House Bills, the State
Highway Commission has ascertained the wage rates prevailing in
the locality in which this work is to be done. The Contractor shall
pay not less than the prevailing wage rates shown in the proposal
for Group 3 for each craft or type of “Laborer,” “Workman,” or
"Mechanic” employed on this project.
Legal holiday work shall be paid for at the regular governing
rates.

Married In Houston
Miss Dorrace L. Eichler of Houston,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ei-
chler of Carmine became the bride of
Lawrence Edward Jennings, son of
Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Jennings of Hous-
ton in a ceremony performed in the
Imanuel Lutheran Church in Hous-
ton on August 29th, with the Rev.
Elmo E. M'.ertchen perfoming the ce-
remony.
The bride wore a gray wool two
piece suit with black accessories and
wore a yellow rosebud corsage. After
the ceremony the couple left for a ho-
neymoon and vacation to Louisiana
and other points. They will make
their home in Houston where both ere
employed at the Houston Power and
Light Co.

Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Zwernemann
and son moved into their newly com-
pleted home last week which is loca-
ted east of the Zwernemann Lumber
yard. Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Bunjes
of Oldenberg who recently purchased
the former Zwernemann home will
