Description: Transcription of a radio message received from Pearl Harbor by Ples Harmon Finley, Jr., and an Ensign informing San Diego Naval Base of the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The note was intended to be destroyed, but Finley put it in his pocket as a souvenir.

Mullinnix, commanding officer of the Naval Air Station in San Diego, California, for completing his course of study at the Aviation Radio School. Also in the scan is an envelope addressed to Ples Harmon Finley, Sr., with a return address from Ples, Jr., now a Radioman First Class aboard the USS Wyandot (AKA-92).
