[Pouring Cornmeal]
Description:
Photograph of Tim Wimberly at the Texas Folklife Festival, gathering cornmeal from a grist mill for his mother Johanna Olander Wimberly, who will make hush puppies with it. The mill was installed by his father, R. K. (Ken) Wimberly, from Austin. It is made mostly of wood with a few metal parts. Corn is loaded in the top, then it is ground and dispensed into a bin. Tim, wearing a cowboy hat, is bending over collecting cornmeal from the bin and putting it into a bag.
