The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Lloyd Overmyer. Overmyer graduated from high school in Monterey, Indiana in 1943 and was drafted into the Army on 20 June 1945. He was undergoing basic training in Little Rock, Arkansas when the war in Europe ended. Following military police training, he embarked on the troop ship USAT George Washington, which sailed to Bremerhaven, Germany.
