Oral History Interview with Jack Nuckols, June 7, 2013

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Jack Nuckols. Nuckols was drafted into the Army in September, 1944 and trained at Camp Hood. After training and transit, Nuckols landed on Okinawa on 10 April, 1945 with the 7th Infantry Division, 184th Infantry Regiment. He recalls several anecdotes from his combat experiences. After occupation duty in Korea, Nuckols returned to the US and was discharged in November 1946.

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Frank Smith. Smith was drafted into the Navy in August, 1943 and went to boot camp in New York. He then trained as a radio operator. He was sent to New Guinea and worked at a station at Hollandia where he received coded messages. Then he went to the Philippines for the invasion of Luzon where he worked aboard a communications vessel. When the war ended, Smith was back at Hollandia and was discharged in April, 1946.

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Donald Morrison. Morrison entered the Army on 1 September, the day before the war ended, and trained at Fort Bragg. He had an assignment at the US Military Academy at West Point and also attended a radio repair school in Oklahoma before being discharged in October 1946.
