Oral History Interview with Glenn O. Thorsen, October 26, 2010

Description: Transcript of an oral interview with Glenn O. Thorsen. Born in 1926, he was drafted into the Army in February, 1945. He arrived on Luzon just prior to the end of the war. He was then assigned to the personnel section of Headquarters Company Kobe Bay of the 8th Army in Kobe, Japan. He later served in the engineering section as a dispatcher of plumbers, electricians, and carpenters. He was discharged in November, 1946. He used the GI Bill to continue his education.

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Lois Dishong. Dishong joined the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) in 1943. She worked in accounting in the finance office at Camp Davis, North Carolina. From there she went to dental school at Camp Atterbury, Indiana. Then she went to work for a dental laboratory at Camp Blanding, Florida. Dishong was discharged in December of 1945.
