He completed Aircraft Mechanic School, and served with the 1st Marine Division. In February of 1944 he traveled aboard the USS Barnes (CVE-20) to Espiritu Santo, where he was stationed at a Marine fighter airstrip base. Oral History Interview with Harvey Webb, May 8, 2018

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Harvey Webb. Webb joined the Army in July of 1943. He served with Company A, 1st Battalion, 382nd Infantry Regiment, 96th Infantry Division. He provides details of his basic training. The 382nd participated in the Battle of Leyte from October to December of 1944 and the Battle of Okinawa from April to June of 1945. Webb returned to the US and was discharged in January of 1946.

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an interview with Earl Carlin. Carlin joined the Navy in June of 1943. He served as a Seaman aboard the USS LCI(R)-472. Carlin oversaw steering the ship, as well as the annunciator and compass on board. They transported troops to Hawaii, the Aleutians, Kwajalein, Eniwetok and New Guinea. Beginning February of 1942, he served on the deck force and as aviation mechanic aboard the USS Wichita (CA-45).
