[Transcript of bond originally held by Peter M. Hughes, November 2, 1836]

Description: Copy of transcript for a bond for a piece of land originally sold to Peter M. Hughes by John Austin on behalf of Stephen F. Austin on March 17, 1833. The bond was then transferred from Hughes to J. Vaughan on December 20, 1833. Ownership of the bond was eventually transferred to Josiah T. Harrell and Leman Kelay who cancelled the bond and obtained a deed for the land on November 2, 1836.

[Letter from the Galveston Wharves to I. H. Kempner, November 2, 1954]

Description: Letter from W. H. Sandberg to I. H. Kempner discussing the recent increase in boy scout numbers in the Bay Area Council and how they have outgrown their previous campgrounds. Mr. Sandberg informs Mr. Kempner that the council has purchased a new 200-acre site for the new campgrounds and invites him to serve as one of the 20 men on the Advisory Committe to help oversee the project.
