The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Richard E. Mann. Mann joined the Army Air Corps in April, 1942 while he was attending the University of Illinois. In October, he went to navigation school in Louisiana. In June, 1943, Mann received his commission and joined the 23rd Anti-submarine squadron at Langley, Virginia.
