Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Melvin Perez. Perez joined the Navy in August, 1943. From basic training, he went to radio school in Colorado. After radio school, Perez was assigned to a Joint Assault Signal Company (JASCO) unit. Navy personnel were pulled from JASCO units while Perez was in Hawaii.
