Oral History Interview with William Coughlin, September 17, 1988

Description: Interview with William Coughlin, a Army WWII veteran who was present at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941, from Auburn, New York. Coughlin discusses joining the Army in 1937, transfer to Hawaii in 1940, duties as a grunt in coastal artillery on Sand Island, becoming a guard, engaging Japanese planes on the morning of December 7th, digging in for the evening, and later service. Included is a screenshot of Coughlin's online obituary.
