Oral History Interview with Leonard Cornelius, July 28, 2011

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Leonard Cornelius. Cornelius joined the Navy in July 1941 and received basic training in San Diego. Upon completion, he was assigned to the USS Enterprise (CV-6) as a seaman. He arrived at Pearl Harbor the day after the attack and saw oil was still burning on the water in the devastated Battleship Row. As the war began, Cornelius became a cook aboard ship.
