This design "consists in a box provided with an opening in one side and a sleeve of pliable material extending outward from this opening, which box contains two smaller boxes for receiving the exposed and unexposed dry plates. Disk Plow.

Description: Patent for a revolving disk plow that pulverizes the soil. The plow is especially designed to prepare the soil for cotton and cultivating between rows of crops. It has a tongue, a cross-bar with a sloping edge, spindles set at an angle to the cross-bar, disks mounted on the spindles, a double scraper for the disks, a gage-wheel, and a pivoting and locking lever on the tongue.

Description: Patent for a new and improved gate. This design consists in "[t]he combination, with the gate composed of the latch-upright, hinge-upright, longitudinal wires and cross-braces, of the spring-depressed latch, pivoted to the brace just in front of the crossing part of the opposite brace, the double-armed lever pivoted through its center to the inner surface of the top of the latch-upright, and the cords connecting said arms to a proper point of the latch" (lines 82-90).

Description: The National Museum of the Pacific War presents an oral interview with Robert Hagen. Hagen served as the gunnery officer aboard the USS Johnston (DD-557). The ship’s captain, Commander Ernest Evans, was well liked and highly respected by the crew.
