Description: Photograph of the Starr Family home, also called Maplecroft, that was built by Frank Starr in 1871 on West Travis St., Marshall, Texas. It is a two-story, side gable, house, with wood siding and one central dormer with two arched windows. A white picket fence with a decorative wood gate and gateposts stands in front. A one story porch with simple square posts spans the facade.

[Greenwood Cemetery, Marshall]

Description: The entrance to old Greenwood Cemetery near East Texas Baptist University in Marshall has a Texas Historical marker. The marker relates that the cemetery "Originated 1840 as private burial ground Van Zandt family." The Van Zandts were a founding family in Harrison County, and Texas patriots. The cemetery later became public and has numerous old graves.
