Stamp Album For the purchase of United States War Savings Bonds

Description: Stamp album used for buying and storing war savings bonds; the note on the inside cover says this book will be worth $18.75 when it is completely full of stamps. The cover of the album is patriotically decorated with an eagles at the bottom and a red, white, and blue color scheme; the back cover has an illustration of a patriot holding a musket in his hand and an American flag in the background. Each page on the inside has empty squares to where one places a bought stamp.

[Letter from E. H. Saulson to Mrs. W. E. Blewett, August 19, 1942]

Description: Letter from E. H. Saulson, director of the USO Club, to Mrs. W. E. Blewett in Sweetwater, Texas. Saulson discusses a meeting to be held August 25, 1942; according to him, the purpose of the club is "to help occupy time and perhaps develop some way of building or maintaining their own morale as well as that of their husbands." Also included is the envelope that this letter was delivered in.

[10 Filipino Pesos]

Description: Paper bill worth ten pesos used by the Japanese government during their occupation of the Philippines from 1942-1945. The front of the bill has text saying "The Japanese Government," and "Ten Pesos." On the right side of the bill there is a picture of a person riding a horse through a forest of palm trees, and on the left there is a large "X" printed in white. The back of the bill has "Ten Pesos" printed in a large font with an ornate design for a border.

[Letter from Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Griggs to Charles R. Griggs, April 17, 1945]

Description: Letter from Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Griggs to their son Captain Charles R. Griggs of the 49th Armored Infantry Battalion. The letter mostly talks about the death of their grandfather who died suddenly, Mr. Griggs had been away in Big Spring as it happened. The rest of the letter talks about the grandfather's dislike for smoking and drinking; finally Mrs. Griggs says that they pray for her son's safety as well as the rest of the boys.
