Description: Patent for a cotton press with a modified core pin that can be automatically removed from cylindrical bales through use of a hydraulic ram before the bale is expelled from the machine. This helps prevent the bales from coming apart (as would often happen when the core pin was removed by hand), and also has the advantage of creating bales with less dense centers, which aids with drying and helps prevent matting.

This design has for its object "the sinking of wooden or other piles in quicksand or ground in which the lateral pressure upon the piles practically prevents their being driven beyond a certain depth.
