Knee-Pad.

Description: Patent for a simple and expensive knee-pad used while picking cotton, berries, &c. The invention affords "the most perfect protection to the user by protecting his knee against contact with objects which would tend to bruise and injure it, and by preventing the dampness of the ground from being transmitted to the knee, which, as is well known, results in various diseases, such as rheumatism" (lines 13-20).

Knee-Pad.

Description: Patent for a simple and efficient knee-pad "made of leather or other pliable material, padded with a yielding lining to give comfort to the wearer" (lines 9-11). It prevents gravel, moisture, and other things from injuring the knee of the user.

Pad for the Backs of Horses.

Description: Patent for a new and improved pad for horses. This design consists in "the air-tight cushion composed of opposite blanks of elastic air-tight material secured along their adjacent edges, and a central longitudinally-disposed dividing strip dividing the cushion into opposite compartments, and provided with openings affording communication between the compartments" (lines 62-68).

Harness-Pad Hook.

Description: Patent for a harness-pad hook meant to attach the pad to the harness for gig-saddles. The hook "will be capable of adjustment to suit the size of the gig-saddle with which it is used, to the end that the hooks may be manufactured after all the same pattern" (lines 14-18). The hook won't damage the gig-saddle and the hook has finger-grasps.
