Kennard to his mother, Sarah Kennard from Washington, Hempstead County, Arkansas discussing his marching from Dangerfield and their continued marching into Little Rock to meet up with his regiment. Mentions meeting soldiers who were discharged because of their age. He met several soldiers in Washington who were in his company and left behind because of sickness and Mart White, who had died. He also discusses the high prices of corn and paper.
