Notes

Originally created for Stanley Marcus to wear during the Texas centennial celebration in 1936, most likely refitted (based on muslin copy of pants) in the late 1940s for Marcus to wear during trips made by French couture designers Jacques Fath and Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel for their trips to Dallas to received the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion.

A) Jacket; six pearl snaps at center front; shirt collar; long sleeves; pockets, collar, sleeve cuffs and center front have cream rope trim.
Retailer's label at inside back collar: "NM / Neiman-Marcus / Man's Shop"
B) Pants; zipper and pearl snap closure; belt loops embroidered and trimmed with cream rope; pockets embroidered and have single pearl snap.
C) Muslin "fitter" pattern pants.
