An example of a typical educational "toy book" for children of the mid 1800's era. Many of the stories have moralistic themes. Bound in publisher's original blue printed wrapper. Purchase, 2002.

Information regarding the publisher: An important publisher of children's books during the mid-1800's in New England. Babcock was particularly known for "toy books" - short, small pamphlets and chapbooks with simple wood cut illustrations.
