Description
Newspaper clipping from the New York Times about government experts re-examining an explosion that occurred on a turret of the U.S.S. Iowa in 1989, and finding that the explosion was an accident. Previously, the incident was believed to be intentional due to a homosexual relationship gone bad between two Navy men.
The Special Collections Department collects and preserves rare and unique materials including rare books, oral histories, university archives, historical manuscripts, maps, microfilm, photographs, art and artifacts. The department is located in UNT's Willis Library in the fourth floor Reading Room.
