Outstanding Student in Vocational Education (Secondary)
Marcus is a Cooperative Education student at the High School for Law Enforcement and
Criminal Justice in Houston. He receives on-the-job training as a Legal Assistant with
"Attorney Services of Houston," a full service legal support company serving the attomeys
of Hams County. Marcus has a 97 grade point average and is in the top 5% of his senior
class. He holds the "Most Outstanding Student Award" at his school in the following
categories: Physical Science, Biology, Computer Math, and Law/Legal Lab. He is a
" recipient of the National English Award, Academic All American Award, and the United
States National Leadership Award. A Who's Who in American High Schools, Marcus was
president of his freshman and sophomore classes. He is a member of numerous
organizations including the Office Education Association, the Hi-Y Club, the Computer
Math Club, Honor Society, and Drama Club. He was 1st runner-up to the "Mr. National
Youth Conference for Christ Award."

Rita Ann is enrolled in Hotel/Motel Management at Central Texas College in Killeen. She
earned an Associate Degree in General Studies in December 1987 with a 3.9 grade point
average. She will earn an Associate Degree in Applied Social Science in May of this year.
With the exception of one B, she has maintained a 4.0 grade point average while working
part-time, to support her family, as a substitute teacher and secretary with the Copperas
Cove ISD. She will pursue a Bachelor's Degree in Business. Rita has progressed so well
in her studies at Central Texas College that she has been processed and approved to begin
teaching classes in Hotel/Motel Management on a part-time basis this summer. She is a
"Who's Who in American Junior Colleges." She has passed the American Hotel and Motel A
Association Certification Examination, with honors, for food and beverage management
and tourism/hospitality. Her son's cerebral palsy has sparked her involvement in the
Association for Retarded Children and Texas Education for Exceptional Children.

Outstanding Student With Special Needs (Secondary)
Armando is enrolled in the CVAE-Office Duplication Practices Cooperative Education
program at the Dallas ISD Business & Management Center. He receives on-the-job training
} at the Fire Prevention and Engineering Bureau of Texas. Armando is state president of the
Vocational Office Career Clubs of Texas. He is also president of his senior class. Armando
is a "Who's Who in American High Schools." He is a member of the Future Homemakers
of America, and Junior Achievement. He is frequently called on to speak to other students
