A letter written to Dean R. P. Sibley, Cornell University, Ithaca, New York from T. N. Carswell, dated July 18, 1944. Carswell acknowledges his receipt of Sibley's letter addressed to Peggy A. Carswell having placed her on probation. He advises of the fact that Peggy, having entered Cornell as a Junior, could not therefore have fulfilled any requirements by the end of the sophomore year and because she is now a senior applying probation, literally, is impossible. This collection was assembled by Thomas Norwood Carswell (1887-1978) and contains correspondence throughout his life. His files hold letters signed by most of the major political leaders of Texas during the 1940s through the 1960s, as well as letters signed by Presidents Harry S Truman, Richard M. Nixon, Senator Lyndon B. Johnson, and George Washington Carver. It also contains a scrapbook of his time at Simmons College.
