And I do not think that we will have to raise the taxes in the
near future, because of the new homes that are being built at a
very rapid pace.
I will never vote or work for any increases in new taxes, until
every other means of securing money is exhausted.

I ask you to please check the facts of this administration's
progress.
By asking for your vote I will pledge to you: Honesty and
Impartial treatment to all.

Miss Cochran reminded families
that certain death benefits are
available to them.
One may be a Social Security
benefit, and others involve retirement
plans.
“If the deceased qualifies by an
adequate wage-earning record, cer-
tain death, funeral and survivor
benefits are available.
“Or, depending on the deceased’s
service record, the Veterans’ Admin-
istration may help pay burial costs.”
Sometimes union or employer
pension funds help defray funeral
costs—and may provide survivor
pension, the specialist added.
“Families also should check life,
health and accident insurance policies
for benefits.
“Also notify any fraternal orders or
professional groups. Sometimes they
have funds available.
“In addition, if the cause of death is
related to the deceased’s employ-
ment, certain benefits may be
available from Workmen’s Com-
pensation.”

Funeral expenses vary widely, so
consider several factors when plan-
ning one, a home management
specialist advises.
“For one, ask a friend or
clergyman to help with arrange-
ments. He will probably be more
willing to question prices or
services,” Lillian Cochran with the
Texas Agricultural Extension Ser-
vice, The Texas A&M University
System, pointed out.
“As another precaution, ask for
prices on the casket, funeral service
and other charges before disclosing
insurance, pension or government
death benefits due the family.”
Also find out what a “one price
includes everything” package deal
includes, Ask whether extra charges
are levied on-certain services or
goods, the specialist emphasized,
“When considering a casket with a
long-term warranty, decide whether
it’s worth the extra cost. After all,
who will check the casket 30 years
from now to see if it’s still whole.
“Before purchasing a cemetery plot
or space in a mausoleum, ask specific
questions concerning maintenance
