Description

Letter from Roger W. Straus to I. H. Kempner inviting him to read over his letter regarding the "Back to the Synagogue" Program which seeks to motivate Jews in America to return to their synagogues and support the social programs that result from higher rates of synagogue attendance. He suggests that Kempner may consider making a contribution to this organization. In the original letter, he mentions the importance of synagogues as a spiritual place, their importance in social and communal programs, and the need to increase attendance numbers to create a more positive identification with synagogues in America.
