Color halftone postcard of the Gables Cafe, Marshall, Texas, probably from the 1960s. The one-story side-gable building consists of a central red-brick cottage with a small cross-gable entrance and white wood-siding additions on both sides. A large rectangular sign supported by two posts in front of the entrance says "The Gables Restaurant." It has fluorescent bulbs for illumination at night. A metal structure on the roof supports lighted letters spelling "The Gables Cafe." A few automobiles are parked in the parking lot in front. There are metal awnings on all of the windows and over the entrance. There is no postmark or message on the back of the card. Printed on the bottom of the message section on the back: "Color by L. T. Davis." Printed on the back between the message and address sections: "Distr. By: Baxter Lane Co., Box 175, Amarillo, Texas. Anchor Color, Fort Worth, 8940."
