WASHINGTON, June 30. C.P—
Former Secretary of State Cordell
Hull had today signed the United
Nations charter, which was flown
to the Capital secretly from San
Francisco overnight.
Secret servicemen guarded the
document on the flight, which it
made in a locked 75 pound safe
with parachute attached.
Hull left his hospital room to
add his signature to the charter
in a State Department ceremony.
Hull had been too ill to attend the
San Francisco conference as senior
adviser to the U. S. delegation. He
has been hospitalized since last
October.
