Message to Boys in Service
County Judge Sends
Greetings
To The Buys In The Service:
During these strenuous days
would ask you to obey the instruc-
tion the prophet Isaiah gave to his
people* in the fortieth chapter of the
book which bears his name “‘Behold
your God." Those people were under
the threat of armed force, but there
is no reference in this passage to an
armed force.
Five hundred years afterwards we
find John the Baptist, living at a
time when the men he loved most
were ground down under the heel of
Roman tyranny, bringing the mes-
sage of the good news about Jesus
He is telling them to watch God and
be sensitive to God. and asking them
to prepare, not the way of a deliverer
from Rome's tyranny, but the way
of the Lord.
God will still be in charge of th?
affairs of this world when this war
comes to a close. You boys realiz?
this much better than we who ar?
at home. Repeatedly. I get reports
us to shame in the matter of Church
attendance and Christian disciple-
ship. You are keeping your eyes
upon God.
Let us remember that our Heavenly
Father is in all suffering with us
if we have the proper attitude.
Sincerely your friend,
Rev. F. Mt WHEAT.

i soon grew out.
, “Let’s measure the horses", sug-
gested the first screwball. Sure e-
nough, it worked out. The white
horse was two inches taller than the

RICHARD DOBIE
He was a practicing lawyer of
Carrizo Springs, but we think he al-
ways will consider Cotulla his horns
(Chicago, Ill., notwithstanding), but
until the war is won, Richard is a
member of uncle Sam's Forces.
Following his induction, he was
stationed in New Orleans, and Flo-
rida, and then was sent to Jackson,
Miss., where he has been for the pju>t
several months.
And instead of being “Judge”
Dobie, he is now Sergeant Dobie.
Congratulations, Richard, and keep
up the good work.
