County, GREETIXG:—Whfreas, El-
leu Greenfield, a resident cititen of Mata<;orda
County. State of Texas, has filed her petition
in our Distiict Court against James Greenfield,
her husband, praying for a diroice from the
bonds of matrimony, on account of abandon-
ment aud for other causes ; aud in which pcli*
tion she alleys that she and her said husband,
James Greenfield, were married in the Slate
ol Louisiana, on or about the 31 tt day of Au-
gust, A. D. 1851, aud that they immediately
thereafter removed to said Matagorda County,
Stale of Texas, where they lived happily to-
cether as husband and wile until about the
•list day of Aucust, 1853. when he, the said
Ja;ne<i Greenfield, abandoned petitioner with-
out any cause or excuse, aud left her with one
child, their mutual offspring, without any
means of support: and Ih.vt said husband hat
not, from that !iiue up to the present, contribu*
ted to the support of petitioner or furnished her
any meant of subsistence, and that ho hat for
and during all of that lime remained absent
from pelitiouer with the inteutioa of abandon
¡ng Ler.
Petitioner also statet that the has no sopar,
ale property, and thai there it no ptoperty be-
longing to the community of herself and her
said bnsband, anil that tho it wholly depend
ant for support oo her own laboi aud tho kind-
ness of h*r friends.
Affidavit having been made aeoording to
taw thai said James Greenfield, the defendant,
is a non-resident of this Slate,
Therefore, Yon are hereby commanded to
cite him, the said Jamot Grooufiotd, by making
publication of Ihit writ in tome newspaper
published in the county ut Matagorda, for four
successive weeks, that he sppesr at the nest
term of the Distiict Court, for taid County, to
be held in the eity and county of Matagorda,
oo the second Monday after the first Monday
