This is the oldest and largest organization of its kind in the U.S. It first opened in 1980 to build public awareness and appreciation for ranching heritage. They relocated in 2009 to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, and maintain a vast exhibition dedicated to preserving and celebrating the history of the cattle industry.

An attached typed note reads, "Kansas City, Missouri--Indian Mound Farms, New Harmony, Indiana, exhibited this classy and alert junior heifer calf, IMF Lady Blend 701, to reserve champion female honors in Register of Merit Hereford competition at the 1967 American Royal. In the picture left to right are: Paul Swaffar, who retired from the position of Secretary of the American Hereford Association during the American Royal; Judge Wilbur Drybread, Valentine, Nebraska; Miss Barbara Lewis, Larned, Kansas Hereford Queen; and at the halter is Wayne Haygood, Indian Mound Farms manager.
