Postcard of the Providence Fire Department and citizens at a three-story fire station. Three fire fighters are standing on an upright ladder in the center of the image. On the back of the postcard, the sender has left a handwritten message that says, "Occupies the first door - engine. The next - doors leading to men's quarters in centre - trucks next - district chief last. This station is close to my home, covers the district [...] up to date - bowling alley on the top floor. Capt's rooms at each corner, front - recreation room in centre. [...]"

Located in the Beaumont Fire Department's 1927 Central Fire Station, the museum opened in 1984 and became the official state fire museum in 1986. Today it provides access to fire service history and education for people across the state of Texas. This nonprofit organization is operated by Beaumont Fire-Rescue Services.
