urgent business. The Colonel, without
wading to finish a square breakfast,

uel saw that the note was headed 1st of
April, and the laugh that greeted him
when he came out, confirmed lum that he,
was not mistaken in the day.

plea-ant walk about four blocks to see a

returned, pondering on the certainty of
the first day of April coming once a

lishing a Grange papm; but Piouty was
