MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF MANAGERS MEETING HELD IN
LUFKIN, TEXAS, JULY 21, 1984
President Brandau presided.
It was moved, seconded and passed, that the minutes of the
previous meeting not be read, but approved as written and
distributed.
It was moved, seconded and passed, that the blanket fidelity
bond be raised to $100,000.00.
It was suggested that a commettee be formed to look onto
expanding the duties of the Vice-Presidents. It was also
suggested that the Vice-Presidents obtain a breakdown of
the activities of the Chapters in their Districts. President
Brandau stated he would appoint such a committee.
As the National Trustee was unable to attend the meeting,
a report on the Congress was given by the Alternate Trustee.
He stated that the State had won 7 society awards, and 17
individual awards. He also stated that the Congress had
approved an increase in fees and dues, effective August 15, 1984.
It was announced that the Gunter Hotel, in San Antonio, had
been selected by the local Chapter as headquarters for the
March 8-9, 1984 State convention. A contract had been signed,
by the local Chapter President, but it is to be renegotiated,
by State Officers, because of the excessive demands. It was
moved, seconded and passed, that in the future the State
President is to sign such contracts.
The Organizing Secretary, Compatriot Bresnehen, announced there
is work being done on organizing a Chapter in Wichita Falls.
Compatriot Wright reported on the Eagle Scout program and
stated that Natiounal would furnish the medals, at no expense
to the Chapters.
Compatriot Currie spoke on grave markers and moved his committee
be abolished. The motion was seconded and passed.Compatriot Kurth reported on the DAR liaison committee. He
