ARMY MURDER MYSTERY
The man whom eight Green Berets are accused of
murdering is said in some reports to have been a double
agent employed the Central Itelligence Agency.
An American Attorney, George Gregory of Cheraw,
South Carolina, representing one of the accused, said
the dead man was "entrusted with such valuable
information that hundreds of lives of American and
Allied servicemen were saved in the most necessary
manner."
One military officer who asked not to be identified
said there werovalid reasons for not taking the Green
Berets to trial. He said "I realize it will be hard for
the army to back down after all the press coverage, but
I'll bet the person who started this thing is sorry
he ever did."
