Two armed robbers were wounded today when they attempted
to hold up the Knox Service Station at 943 Corinth in
the Oak Cliff section of Dallas.
Station owner John Cross said he shot both bandits Z and
that they ran from the scene on foot, without getting any
money. Cross was hit in the hand by a AXNMA ricochetting
slug as the bandits returned his g fire.
About ten minutes after the attempted robbery, police
swarmed to the eight-hundred-block of Waco street, where
the suspects had been seen entering a house. Officers
knocked down the front door of the residence, but the
suspects alre6; y had fled. Later, both were arr sted when
they sought medical treatment. They're hospitalized to-
night in undetermined condition. No charges have yet been
filed.(4
