TEXAS DEMOS
The Texas delegation to the Democratic
National heads home today.
Delegation leader Dolph Briscoe told the
delegates he he wants to see a "return to the
influence in the national party" Texas once
had.
And there will be some explaining to do.
Mrs. Sue Estes, state coordinator for Senator
George McGovern and a convention delegate from
Arlington, said she had received a lot of calls
protesting Briscoe's vote for Governor George
Wallace. Briscoe first voted Oor Wallace in
the presidential balloting and then switched to
McGovern.
In the vice presidnetial balloting last
night, State Representative Frances Farenthold
was second to Senator Thomas Eagleton of Missouri
