Commando troops are reported to have parachuted
into Laos for the first time. Sources say they were
sent into action in a government drive to recapture
territory lost to enemy forces last December.
In South Vietnam, government forces are trying
to stop an enemy push toward Da Nang and control of
Highway One.
The U.-S command says American fighter bombers
flew 235 strikes over Vietnam yesterday and
today in support of government trooops.
Pilots claim they destroyed nine supply trucks
and one tank just south of the Demilitarized Zone.
