The Special Collections Department collects and preserves rare and unique materials including rare books, oral histories, university archives, historical manuscripts, maps, microfilm, photographs, art and artifacts. The department is located in UNT's Willis Library in the fourth floor Reading Room.

Video recording from The Black Academy of Arts and Letters recorded during their "Rhythms, Reflections, Relations: The Works of Evita Tezeno" exhibition event in 2006. This video features shots of gallery tags and the corresponding works. In this solo exhibition, Tezeno pulls heavily from her collage and mixed-media work that echo textiles and quilting. The imagery highlights black women and social relationships.
