""E""E" EA4. Society Awards were presented to individuals and Chapters during the
113th Annual Convention in Arlington, Texas, March 27-30, 2008. Although competition was tight,
many compatriots and Chapters diligently worked to complete the society's programs and achieve the
goals set for 2007.
everyone contributing their time and dedicating their skills to the programs and contest of the
TXSSAR Society are commended for their individual and Chapter efforts leading to the
continued success of the Society's contests for this year. Hundreds of individual
compatriots in 49 Chapters of the Society reached out to schools, local organizations,
the DAR and CAR Societies, and other patriotic societies to participate in TXSSAR
contests, programs, and events.
Z wish to express a sincere appreciation for the continued diligence of so many
compatriots and chapters in furthering the goals of SAR.
FRIDAY COUNCIL OF CHAPTER PRESIDENTS
The Galveston Award:
Established by Bernardo Galvez Chapter was presented to the chapter with the highest % of increase
of donations to the TXSSAR Col. Joe Hill Patriots Fund. The Winner was the Ambassador Warren
Fletcher Chapter # 43 (7110%) and an Honorable Mention for the McKinney Chapter # 63
(2475%).
The Frank Watkins Award:
Established by the Hill Country Chapter in Honor of Frank Watkins was presented to the chapter
having the highest % of members contributing to the TXSSAR Col. Joe Hill Patriots Fund in the past
year. The Winner was the Ambassador Warren Fletcher Chapter # 43 (20%) and an Honorable
Mention for the Freedom Chapter # 41 (17.3%).
The Karl E. Wallace Award:
Given by TXSSAR Society in honor of Past President Karl E. Wallace to the Chapter having the
highest % of membership increase during the past year. The Winner was the Boerne Chapter # 64
(125%) and Honorable Mention: McKinney # 63 (30.3%).
The Adrian Drouilhet Award:
Named for Secretary Treasurer Emeritus Adrian Drouilhet was presented to the Chapter with the
most new members under 50 years of age. The Winner was Dallas Chapter # 2 (27 members).The Texas Compatriot
