NoteDid you know...
...that Chinese physicians (most notably Dr.
Lu Pao Pei) have used garlic since 1964 to
treat cryptococcal meningitis ("crypto"), viral
encephalitis, cytomegalovirus infection
(CMV), candida ("thrush"), and other fungal
and bacterial infections? For several years
they have even used garlic intravenously,
achieving positive results with an extract
developed by Dr. Lu.

January 16, 1991Toxoplasmosis
...or "toxo" to those who know and hate
it, is the most common opportunistic
infection (OI) of the central nervous system.
It is triggered by a parasite (Toxoplasma
gondll) that is actually very common,
appearing in 50% of Americans surveyed,
90% of French. This little bug is not
threatening at all until it encounters an
immune suppressed system; then it can
really foul things up. For example, it
causes encephalitis (which leads to coma
and then death), fever, neurological
problems like weakness on one side,
difficulty in walking and speaking, seizures,
palsies, vision impairment, severe
headaches, confusion, lethargy, and short
term memory loss.
'Toxo" can be managed now, as several
DBC members have reported. Please call
for more informationCMV
Cytomegalovirus
This disorder is the obnoxious Aunt Sally
of the herpes family. It may be asymptomatic
in 50% of the world population, but generally
only leads to illness in those with less than 50
CD4 cells.
Those infected suffer fatigue, aching,
sore throats, fever, and enlarged lymph
nodes. PWA's who contract CMV could
develop hepatitis, pneumonia, colitis (viva,
diarrhea!), and retinitis (which can lead to
blindness). The virus has been detected in all
body fluids, including sweat and saliva.
Because CMV has a link to herpes,
Psychotonin M has demonstrated a degree of
effectiveness against it.It's Just a Joke...
A couple in their late sixties went to the
doctor's office. The doctor said, "And what can I
do for you?".
One of them replied, "Will you watch us
have sexual intercourse?"
The doctor looked puzzled, but agreed.
When the couple had finished the doctor said,
"There is nothing wrong with the way you have
intercourse," and he charged them $32.00.
This happened several weeks in a row. The
couple would make an appointment, have
intercourse, pay the doctor, and leave.
Finally the doctor asked, "Just what exactly
are you trying to find out?"
They replied, "We aren't trying to find out
anything! We're both married, so we can't go to
either of our houses; the Holiday Inn charges
$60, the Hilton charges $78, and we can do it
here for $32, and I get back $28 from Medicare
for a visit to the doctor's office."
