DO HOMOSEXUALS MOLEST THE UNDERAGE?
Common opinion answers "yes" while gay activists claim
that homosexuals are proportionately less frequently
involved with children and charges'. Table 1 summarizes the
world's recent literature regarding child molestation by
approximate ratio of heterosexual:homosexual assault
(column 3) and girl:boy victimization (column 4).
Two things appear reasonably certain from Table 1: a) about
twice as many girls as boys are recorded as victims of molestation,
and b) about 40% of the assaults are made by those who engage
in homosexuality. But the issue is proportionality: if 40% of the
populace practice homosexuality then their being involved in
40% of the molestations would be "fair". How many heterosexuals,
bisexuals and homosexuals are there? No study had reported on
a random sample of the populace regarding sexual preference
until 1981 and two studies that year generated almost identical
estimates. 2,251 persons randomly selected from six different
areas of the country were asked to declare themselves as
"exclusively heterosexual", "mainly hetero", "bisexual", "mainly
homosexual", "exclusively homo": 96% of both genders claimed
heterosexuality, 4% bi- to homosexuality.22 In the San Francisco
area, a random draw of 477 persons was asked to report on the
sexual preferences of their 831 siblings23: 96% were judged
heterosexual and about 4% bi- to homosexual. So it appears
reasonable to estimate that about 4% of the populace regularly
engage in homosexual acts.19842 782 reports of sexual approaches

24:17 2:1Were we to assume that every heterosexual molestation was
committed by a heterosexual Icertainly not the case, bisexuals
accounted for at least 18% of the molesters in 1', at least 9% in 12,
and in 9 at least 26% of the 125 molestations of girls and 39% of
the 82 molestations of boys were committed by bisexuals], then
the 96% of the population which is heterosexual appears to
commit no more than between 60% (Md of all studies in Table 1
regarding sexual preference of offender) and 67% (Md of all
studies in Table 1 regarding gender of victim with the assumption
that all molestations of boys were by homosexuals and all of
girls by heterosexuals). Under this assumption, the 4% of the
population which is bi- to homosexual commits no less than
between 40% to 33% of all child molestations. If we were to
conservatively assume that 10% of the molestations of girls is
perpetrated by bisexuals then the estimates would change to:
heterosexuals commit between 50% to 57% and bi- to homosexuals
between 50% to 43%. In the ISIS national random sexuality
study, 2.5% of males reported physical sexual contact with a
man when they were a child (aged less than 13). 4.1% of
females made the same claim. 35% of all victims were homo-
sexually molested. If we apply the bisexual correction, then
about 42% of all victims of molestation were assaulted by
those who practice homosexuality. Homosexual practition-
ers are at least 12 times and probably 18 times (with the
bisexual correction) more apt to incorporate minors into their
sexual practices than heterosexuals are.
All of the above is in reasonable harmony with what we know
from the literature about adult-child sexual interaction. The
original Kinsey study24 found that 37% of the gays and 2% of the
lesbians admitted to sexual relations with under-17-year-olds,
and 28% of the gays and 1% of the lesbians to sexual relations
with under-16-year-olds while they themselves were aged 18 or
older. In the second Kinsey study34 a quarter of gays admitted to
homosexual relationships with under-16-year-olds since they
themselves were aged 21. And in the Gay Report3' 23% of the
gays and 6% of the lesbians admitted to sexual interaction with
youth less than 16 years of age since they themselves were aged
20. In a random survey of British 15-to-19 year olds36 35% of
the boys and 9% of the girls claimed to have been approached
for sex by adult homosexuals and 2% of the boys and 1% of the
girls admitted to succumbing.
DO HOMOSEXUAL TEACHERS
BETRAY THEIR PUPILS?
If homosexuals are disproportionately inclined to incorporate
children into their sexual practices we would expect their entry
into positions of personal power over youngsters (as teachers or
Scout or Church leaders) to be accompanied by a disproportionate
incidence of caretaker-charge sexual molestation. In the case
of teachers, that is precisely what the literature records. Of the
30 cases of teacher-pupil sexual interaction detailed below [all
we could locate in English over the past 80 years], 24 of the 30
cases involved homosexuality. That's 80% of all recorded cases.
Such would suggest that homosexual teachers would be about
100 times more apt to molest their pupils than heterosexualteachers are. The McCallk study indicates that homosexual
teachers generate 13 times more complaints about teacher-
pupil sexual interaction. Applying the bisexual correction' would
increase the estimate to 17 times more apt.
There is a small set of references to teacher-pupil sexual
interaction in the psychiatric and legal literature. While they
waited until 1979 to reveal it, the Kinsey study of the 1940s
found that 4% of their non-criminal white gays and 7% of their
non-criminal white lesbians reported that they had had their
first homosexual experience with a'teacher or other caretaker'.24
None of the Kinsey 'mainly heterosexuals' are recorded as
having a teacher as a sex partner, much less as their first sex
partner. Schofield25 reported that at least 2 of his 150 homosexuals
had their first homosexual experience with a teacher and an
additional 2 reported that their first homosexual experience
with an adult was with a teacher. One of the fifty men in his
comparison group had also been seduced by a homosexual
teacher while none of the men interviewed claimed heterosexual
involvement with a teacher.
McGeorge's'6 report of 400 consecutive cases of molestation
in Australia, reveals that 7 boys and 4 girls were assaulted by
their teachers. A follow-up of 33 boy prostitutes26 reports that at
least one had had homosexual relations with one of his teachers;
likewise a follow-up of 9 boys involved in pederasty27 discovered
that at least one had had homosexual relations with his high
school teacher. Apparently at least 2 of the 106 rapists and child
molesters in 28 had had homosexual relations with teachers. So
in35 5 homosexual and a heterosexual involvement with teachers
is detailed; in 29 one attack by a homosexual teacher is detailed
(#48) and one homosexual teacher involved a portion of his
class in sexually-tinged whippings (#102); at least one gay had
his first homosexual experience with his public school teacher
in 30; 2 lesbian teacher-pupil interactions are documented in 3 at
pgs. 15 and 27; 37 reports a hetero- and a homosexual teacher-
pupil sexual interaction. Even Ellis32 recounts two teacher-pupil
and professor-pupil homosexual events at pgs. 41, 166 & 345.
The only direct comparative 'study' on the issue was reported
by McCall's in 1978. In a mail-out questionnaire to 4,000
elementary and secondary principals throughout the U.S. of
which about 1,400 were returned, 11% of the principals reported
'complaints about homosexual teachers in their schools', 7%
reported complaints about homosexual contact between teachers
and pupils and 13% complaints about heterosexual contact
between teachers and pupils. Two percent of the principals
"knew of instances in which teachers discussed their homosexuality
in class".
The Institute for the Scientific Investigation of Sexuality has
just analyzed a national random survey of 4,340 adults from 5
metropolitan areas (L.A., Denver, Omaha, Louisville, Washington,
D.C.) in which adults were asked to report on any sexual
advances and any physical sexual contact with elementary and
secondary teachers (4% of the teachers in the study reported
themselves as bi- or homosexual). Of those reporting sexual
advances by their elementary school teachers, 29% of the advanceswere homosexual. Of those reporting sexual advances by
secondary teachers, 16% were homosexual. Of actual sexual
contacts, 25% of those with elementary and 22% of those with
secondary teachers were homosexual. Homosexual elementary
school teachers were thus over 11 times more apt to make
sexual advances and 8 times more apt to molest their pupils.
Secondary homosexual teachers were about 5 times more apt to
make advances and 7 times more apt to molest than their
heterosexual counterparts. Overall, 18% of respondents
reported having had a homosexual teacher. But only 8% of
those over the age of 55 made such a claim vs. 25% of those
under the age of 26. Of those reporting a homosexual teacher:
-23% said the teacher 'influenced them to regard
homosexuality as socially acceptable'
- 6% said that the teacher influenced them to try homo-
sexuality
- 13% of the men and 4% of the women said that the teacher
made sexual advances toward them, and
-32% of the men and 22% of the women reported that the
teacher made sexual advances toward at least one of the
other students.
Homosexual teachers have not changed - they are as danger-
ous as ever. What has changed is the willingness of society to
entrust its young to sexual deviants.
