Gangland death came this week to Herbert Noble,
the.Dallas gambler who survived eleven previous attempts
on his life....

A charge of dynamite, buried immir Noble's
mailbox on a country road. near his Denton county ranch,
blasted to bits the man they called "The Cat"....His assailants
apparently were hidden in a clump of trees a short distance
away..... A battery, with wires leading to the trees, was
buried near the mail box......Witnesses reported seeing a
blue pickup truck parked on the road prior to the explosion....
One suspect was arrested, but no charges have been filed......
Noble, who had escaped death from bullets and dynamite bombs,
was buried beside his wife who was killed in an automobile
bomb blast --apparently intended for him --m20 months ago...I
