Description

This home movie documents the daily lives and activities of the Sam Riley family including birthdays and holidays in the years 1950 and 1951. The footage begins with family members outdoors in an unidentified location (00:00-00:29) and includes footage of young Helen Riley with a teddy bear (00:29-00:50), a family in their Easter clothes posted on the front steps of a home (00:50-02:04), people boarding an airplane and a plane taking off (02:04-02:12). In the next scene an evolving group of family members pose next to a piano while they talk, laugh, and sing. Different groups convene until there is one large group portrait (05:39-07:23). The film concludes with children and family members posing and playing outdoors (07:23-09:29) and a Christmas celebration (09:30-11:31). Family members set the table, serve appetizers, and family members entertain young Helen in front of the Christmas tree.
