then lived with 8 queer couples for 1 week each to get a view of actual behavior.

Class,race and gender play specific roles in how people deal with Thanksgiving.
It's clear to me that many lesbian and gay couples live in much greater isolation
than the stereotype would hold. Many think that if there isn't a biological
family to turn to then there is a queer kinship group to turn true ant that's just
not true.
Asian and latino queer familits interviewed have created a network, but many
Euro types spend that time alone. The two of them. The

Class and race often correspond. race people go to their biolobical reletaive. In
most cases their partners are invited.
What's changed is more gay and lesbian people think of their queer
relationships as family. They think of forming families around queer people
with queer people. In some of the older couples there is some ambiguity about
that. In amny ways they still perceive the family in biological terms.
couples become the planet around which lots of individual revolve. Single
queer people are kind of satellites that get collected aound these mass so that
these meals (celevrations() become kind of the center of many single queer
people's lives. Interestingly enough, lots of the work a queer couple does is
bringing those singles into a community of family. In interviews he hears
thinking about single people in their social lives. "Does so and so have a place
to go. If not, lets make sure they come here."
Hets do this to but its more biological. In gay circles, it is less biologically
defined.I
