For gay people they have many times of the uyera that they can do that in. I

People have had to choose. I think it's more accpeting to go home on our own
terms rather that the terms of the past. Because christmas has peowper ful
images, chosing to go there is not necessarily an attack on gay identity.
Heteroseuxals have to make decsions as well. I think that's a problem that
heterosexuals deal with too, Kids of divorces parents as well.

This is really a 1970s and onwards issues, because people are more apt to "live
the life" Post stonewall there was an emergnece of group identity rather than
individualy. Whil there probably were gays, it probably became more prevelant.
probably as an off shot of clubs, centers, etc.
I think peole started to get to know each other in a non sexual setting in ways
they didn't before stonewall.
The question has become how do you encorporate both families in your life.
I'm hearing more and more people
Compromises depend on how open we are. It might be an issue. But het
couples do too. That's one of the compromises people make
It may not be the same things that are sensored. It's not radically different, but
it's not exactly the same.
On whose teritoy does it happen. That may make the difference, It's more of
guests host issue rather than gay straignt. Depends of social, class and
relationship status.
I think any holiday that emerges out of one's childhood carries with it both a
range of nostalgia and loss, and some it may be fear and anxiety. Often the
source of stress and stain. For others it was a joyous norman rockwell time.
It depends on what your experience was growing up.
Another variable is how far away from home It's both out of sight out of mind.
expectations deminished if you're far away. Even at passover at saders, a lot
more gay saders where people have family and friends together.
