BISHOP GORMAN SPEAKS 1-1-1-1-1-1-1
What is said to be an historic occassion for
Dallas takes place as Roman Catholic Bishop Thomas
K. Gorman and Methodist Bishop William C. Martin
sit shoulder-to-shoulder at a luncheon of the
Dallas Pastors Association. The luncheon takes
place in the East Dallas Christian Church and
officials say this is the first time in Dallas
history a Roman Catholic bishop has spoken in a
protestant church.
MEN RISE, APPLAUD
Bishop Gorman, introduced by Bishop Martin, says
he longs for the day when Christian faiths are
united. But he says flatly that unification cannot
come about in our lifetime. S Bishop Gorman says
churches have common problems they can work
together to solve, among them the threat of
